Nature, Identity & Mother

Nature, Identity & Mother stemmed from a personal exploration during my postgraduate studies, inspired by one of the most profound experiences of my life: raising my twin daughters.

Despite them sharing the same beginning, I have watched them grow into distinct individuals, each having unique personality traits and navigating the world through their own thoughts and perspectives. Seeing their identities unfold helped me understand that motherhood is not about shaping a child into who we think they should become but about nurturing and appreciating who they aspire to be.

The garments created for this project were a reflection of this journey. Crafted as collages of my daughters’ sketches and words dedicated to me, they embodied the balance between shared beginnings and individual identities.
