How motherhood shaped my creations
Motherhood changed more than just my life, it gave meaning to my creations. To slow down, pause and observe deeply are qualities I am immensely grateful for. Being a mother allows me to observe deeply and appreciate the tiniest joys of life, shaping my design direction.
Ever since the birth of my twin daughters, textiles for me, extended beyond just ‘materials’ but rather became the language through which care is expressed in its purest form. Every thread, knot and fold became an embodiment of relationships, memories, protection, growth and transformation. All of my creations convey one meaning: beauty is not loud, it is to be felt. This is what I have truly instilled within myself throughout the beautiful yet evolving journey of motherhood.
‘Threads of life’, one of my largest installations, is an authentic depiction of my values and feelings. Set up to show the transformative journey of motherhood, where a tiny life grows within, eventually becoming a free spirit that continues to leave an enduring imprint on a mother’s heart.
